The Resource Association has got its 50th local authority signatory to its End Destination of Recycling Charter.

Surrey Waste Partnership has signed up to the voluntary agreement that aims to give more transparency on where recycling goes to by providing an annual register of where council’s recyclate ends up.

As a result of the 12 Surrey councils that are part of the Surrey Waste Partnership signing up to the charter, it actually takes the number of councils on the register beyond 60.

Resource Association chair Andy Doran said: “I am especially pleased to welcome Surrey Waste Partnership as signatories to the charter. It’s clear that there is a growing mood to deliver greater transparency and more information to the public wherever possible and we’re delighted that our colleagues in Surrey share this view. I urge other councils and local authority partnerships to follow suit.”
