The integration of Demag Cranes into Terex is continuing following a reorganisation of the industrial cranes and port technology business.
Since August 2011, Terex has been the majority shareholder of Demag Cranes and since then the cranes business has been integrated as a fifth business segment operating alongside other Terex segments aerial work platforms, construction, cranes and materials processing.
Demag Cranes will now operate under the Terex Material Handling and Port Solutions banner, but will retain the name Demag Cranes.
Terex Material Handling and Port Solution president Aloysius Rauen said: “The integration of Demag Cranes’ Group into Terex Corporation is a strategic gain for everybody. Our customers benefit from a broader range of products, which offer real added value.
“To serve them even better, we work closely together with the other Terex segments to gain access to markets in various regions, for example, or to utilise existing sales channels.
“The economies of scale alone have enabled us to achieve considerable savings in our purchasing activities, which ultimately benefit our customers.”
