The ownership of the £20 million Scotgen waste to energy facility in Dumfries, Scotland has changed hands after its parent company went into administration.
It is now owned by UK Venturing Limited.
The entire shareholding was sold by UK Capital Venture Holdings Limited when it and another company, Ascot Environmental, were placed into administration on 18 May.
According to Companies House the new owners, UK Venturing Limited was incorporated as a company as of 15 May.
It has two directors listed, James Hennessey and David Quarmby. Both were directors of UK Capital Venture Holding Limited and Ascot Environmental.
The Dumfries and Galloway Standard newspaper quoted a spokesman from administrators Deloitte. He said: “Prior to the insolvencies, UK Capital Venture Holdings Limited was the 100 per cent shareholder of Scotgen Dumfries Limited.
“Following the appointment of joint administrators, its shares have been sold to UK Venturing Limited by the administrators of UK Capital Venture Holdings Limited.
“We are currently working to establish the extent of Ascot’s liabilities and this will be communicated in due course to creditors in the administrators’ proposals.”
The plant previously had a contract with a group of companies called Waste2Energy which went into administration and left a £600,000 trail of debt in the Dumfries area.
The facility is a gasification and pyrolysis plant.
