The delegates, including Mark Rutte (pictured centre), were given a document containing the vision of how the Netherlands plans to become a leader in the circular economy.

Mark Rutte said: “We are a nation of little hierarchy, with highly educated people, many entrepreneurs and the highest waste collection rates in the world.

“If you put all this together, I think the Netherlands can play a leading role in sustainable urbanisation and the circular economy.”
