Plans to construct an anaerobic digestion plant in Sutton Courtenay, Oxfordshire have been pulled by FCC Environmental.

This happened just hours before Vale of White Horse District Council could rule on a planning decision for the proposal

An FCC Environmental spokesman said: “It is our intention to further develop our plans for the anaerobic digestion facility, before submitting a fresh planning application.

“As part of that process we will continue to consult widely with the local community, Oxfordshire County Council and relevant parish councils.”

FCC Environmental wishes to build the anaerobic digestion plant on the site where it had previously planned a £20 million mechanical biological treatment facility. These plans were turned down by Oxfordshire County Council last year.

The firm said that it would change the bid and resubmit at a later date.
