FCC refinances debt of UK subsidiary as part of new focus

Spanish group FCC has completed the refinancing of the debt of its UK subsidiary FCC Environment.

It has refinanced £381 million of debt over a period of four years and is part of progress by the company to refinance the debt of the entire group.

FCC will now also focus on environmental services, infrastructure and water after selling 51 per cent of its energy division to Plenium Partners.

This division specialised in wind farms, solar thermal plants and photovoltaic plants.

As a result of this, FCC has managed to reduce its interest-bearing debt to below €5 billion.
