Hong Kong is to gets its first local recycling factory as mainland labour costs rise, according to Plastics News.
In an interview with the publication, Fukutomi corporate communications manager Eva Chui revealed that the company expects the plant to come on stream in 2013 and will be able to process 15,000 tonnes of PET per year. The food-grade recycled PET pellets will be exported primarily to Europe and the US.

The company intends to source material from both Hong Kong and from abroad.
