A scrap dealer based in Irvine, in Scotland, has been held up at knifepoint and had £10,000 stolen in cash.
The two robbers forced their way into the office of Hawthorn Scrap Metal Dealers and threatened a 32-year old man who worked there with a knife before making off with the cash.
Both were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing and drove off in a blue Vauxhall Astra, which was later found burned out.
Strathclyde Police Detective Inspector Colin Drummond said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the Sloan Avenue or Steadman Place areas of Irvine on Monday and who saw anyone hanging around this area or was aware of a blue Vauxhall Astra car there to contact Saltcoats police office.
“I would also ask if anyone with any information on the men involved in this robbery to contact us.”
