JBS wins contract to recycle metal springs and foam from Silentnight mattresses

Telford-based mattress recycler JBS Fibre Recovery will recycle the old mattresses from customers of manufacturer Silentnight.

The company has won the contract to recycle the metal springs, foam and fibre from Silentnight’s home delivery customers.

This will mean that JBS recycles another 7,000 mattresses in 2013 alongside the 800,000 it currently recycles from its five depots around the country.

JBS operations director John Neill said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been appointed by such a huge multi-national as Silentnight to recycle all of the firm’s old mattresses on behalf of its direct home delivery customers.

“We worked closely with the team at Slientnight to establish its exact environmental requirements, and are committed to ensuring that this new partnership provides the firm with a complete landfill diversion strategy.”
