Eco Plastics deputy chairman Jonathan Short has stepped down from his role as chairman of the Resource Association.
Following on from the sale of Eco Plastics in December, he will now concentrate on his existing business interests.
He is also leaving the board of the Resource Association.
Jonathan Short said: “As the UK’s reprocessing sector goes from strength-to-strength, it is important that it has an effective, focussed and proactive voice to provide the leadership it needs. In the short time since it was founded, the Resource Association has proven its ability to do just that. It is in the best interests of the Association and its members that it has at its helm a chairman who can make the necessary commitment to this influential organisation.”

Resource Association chief executive Ray Georgeson added: “In his time as chairman, Jonathan has helped build the Resource Association into a strong and credible voice for the reprocessing and recycling industry. On behalf of the board and its members, I would like to thank Jonathan for the time, hard-work and support he has given to the Association since it was founded over three years ago. We are naturally disappointed to see him go, but are in no doubt that he will play an important role in the Association’s future as it goes from strength-to-strength.”
DS Smith business development manager Peter Clayson will be acting chairman until the next annual general meeting in May.
