A tool has been developed that can help to ensure local authority civic amenity sites are located as efficiently as possible.

Monksleigh have launched its M.A.P waste market analysis profiling tool which brings together the latest thinking in geographical mapping and waste market analysis, to create an understanding of the way waste facilities complement and compete with one another to provide an optimal solution at predefined delivery levels saving thousands of pounds.

The M.A.P tool allows the modelling of a variety of ‘what-if’ scenarios to understand the ramifications of different levels of provision, and outputs them in a series of easy-to-understand map images. When specifically applied to CA sites, the technology can model the effects of any changes on the options and costs for haulage to outlets for materials.

Other initiatives can also be built into the model, including effects that could lead to reduced tonnage such as shorter opening hours and charging for services, as well as models that can lead to increased tonnages such as charged commercial services.
