The newly designed bottle for Bacardi rum has paper labels on it made out of recycled cane fibre.

This is a by-product of rum making and means that Bacardi is able to move towards sourcing all of its paper-based packaging from sustainable certified sources by 2017.

Bacardi already works with its waste management companies to ensure a closed loop system is in place for its glass so that waste glass is turned into containers in as little as three weeks.

This happens at its two largest facilities in Scotland and Italy.
