Waste equipment specialists Blue Group have been unveiled as the new UK distributor of materials handling equipment from Terex Fuchs.

Since 1999, Hydrex Group has acted as hirer and distributor for German manufacturer Terex Fuchs and has developed the UK into one of the most important globally. However, as part of its marketing strategy, it decided to search for a new dealer and service partner to support existing revenues while also exploring other opportunities.

As a result, it decided to pick Blue Group. This is because Blue intends to expand into the metal recycling market as well as port handling applications that will work well with Terex Fuchs’ ambitions.

Blue Group will now take over the dealership of Terex Fuchs in the UK and Ireland with immediate effect. It will also take over the staff and Bristol premises of Hydrex to safeguard existing jobs and continuity for customers.

To ensure a smooth transition, Blue Group will continue to operate the Hydrex Portishead office as the base for the Terex Fuchs dealership and will integrate its staff with Blue’s offices in Warrington, London, Bristol, and Stirling allowing sales and service across the country.

Blue Group director Brian Maxwell said: “We are delighted to be appointed as new distributor for Terex Fuchs in the UK. It has been our long-term growth strategy to add a materials handler to our existing portfolio of exclusive brands, and we are thrilled to have secured the dealership of our number one choice in Terex Fuchs.

“One of our key strengths at Blue is our strong after sales support. We look forward to working with all existing Terex Fuchs customers and aim to improve the levels of service they have been receiving. We are looking to build on the world class reputation and quality of Terex Fuchs machines and see our appointment as a long-term commitment to becoming the UK’s leading supplier of materials handling equipment.”

Blue Group offers the waste management sector equipment for materials recycling facilities, shredding, composting, screening and crushing equipment for a range of waste streams.
