Sources have told scrap-ex news that there is a lack of interest from Chinese buyers in low grade materials.

Low grade plastics and paper are struggling to be sold, with LDPE film affected in particular.

A source who did not wish to be named said: “The Chinese have got so much material, that they do not need to buy the low grade material. They already have a lot of material, including the low grade, so there is no need for them to buy it.”

However, demand remains good for better quality plastic and paper.
