More than 200 tonnes of paper and plastic has caught alight at the AMG Resources recycling plant in Llanelli.

Crews managed to bring the blaze under control after two hours at the facility which is best known for recycling tin-plate scrap.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service station manager Nigel Gibbard said: “Our main concern was with the wind direction as the smoke was blowing over the town. No one was evacuated and we were able to damp down the flames quite quickly.”
