A man has had his arm crushed by a polythene baler at Logicare in Normanton, West Yorkshire.

Firefighters from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called to the incident to dismantle the baler in order to free the man. Once he was freed, he was transported by ambulance to hospital to treat his severely crushed arm.

Logicare is a  logistics division of the WasteCare Group, and WasteCare have now begun an investigation into the incident.

Officials from Wakefield Council’s environmental health team are also investigating what went wrong.
