Their new company began trading last year and will provide reuse, recycling and recovery services for electrical and technical equipment in niche areas of activity where an off the shelf solution won’t suffice.

Intelligent Lifecycle Solutions has already completed its first acquisition. In November 2013, it bought Scottish firm Intelligent Storage Solutions that repairs and recycles disk drives.

It also recently signed two new contracts. One of these was with a technology financial services business and involved supporting the migration of major infrastructure across 14 international sites and is due to be completed this month.

ILS director Jon Godfrey said: “We are thrilled with this project success. We were involved from the early consultation stage right through to fulfilment and we have proved significant added value throughout the process.”

The other contract saw ISS selected by a major repair and services business to partner it in the refurbishment and reuse of 100,000 used hard disk drives. Drive deliveries will begin this month and the contract will be complete by the end of April.
