Environment Agency officers and the police have raided properties with the police arresting four people in Somerset in a crackdown on waste crime.

In two operations, a site was raided in Weston Zoyland near Bridgwater as well as two properties near Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet.

One person was arrested at the former, and three people were arrested as part of Operation Tornado, which targets metal theft, at the site near Glastonbury.

All four suspects that were arrested have been bailed until February 2013.
