Former Aylesford Newsprint employee Karen Newell has joined the company again as area manager for the midlands and Wales.

She previously worked at Aylesford Newsprint for seven years but left to join SCA when it was in the early stages of developing its Southampton MRF, then moved to SAICA.

She said: “Coming back to Aylesford Newsprint feels a little like coming home. We have a reputation for doing the right thing and it’s an approach that works. The sector’s changed enormously since I was last at Aylesford and the challenges are very different, but I can’t wait to get back out on the road again.”

Also joining the company is Matt Feekings who joins from Medway Council as area manager covering the south east.

Both will report to Aylesford head of recycling Gemma Barratt. She said: “I’m really pleased that Matt and Karen have joined the team. Together they bring such a wealth of experience and understanding which can only be a huge benefit to our suppliers.”
