There were price falls last week for plastic bottles and steel grades, according to last week’s Intelligence report.
Published each Friday, Intelligence is the comprehensive report for assessing all of the factors influencing the price of recycled materials.
Last week, PET bottles dropped by a further £10 per tonne, and the same price fall was seen for HDPE bottles.
HMS1 was down by £10 and a similar fall was seen by other steel grades on the back of the mothballing of the Redcar plant on Teesside. This was on top of already low price caused by the international market.
Steel cans also dropped by £5 per tonne as a result.
Another price to note is the very high PRN prices being experienced by both plastic and aluminium.
Paper grades were unchanged.
