A new high-capacity paper shredder has been bought by Printwaste Recycling & Shredding.

An overall £800,000 investment has been put into the company that also includes a Meltog PS74 machine.

The shredder is more energy-efficient through the use of state-of-the-art electronic controls and provides an additional four-tonnes per hour capacity for the secure destruction of confidential documents.

It has been installed in tandem with existing machinery, and its contra-rotating shaft cutters produce a consistent particle size to a high security level.

Once the paper is shredded, it is baled on site before being sent for recycling into new paper products.

Printwaste managing director Don Robins said: “Growing demand from more clients requiring secure data destruction services has prompted our investment in this state-of-the-art machinery, which maximises efficiency with greater throughput while maintaining the required particle size.  This allows for future anticipated growth in this fast-growing sector.”
