The company that purchased EcoPlastics in December has now taken over Regain Polymers for an undisclosed sum.

Regain Polymers recycles rigid plastics and is based in Allerton Bywater in Yorkshire and has now been bought by Aurelius.

Founded in 1991, the company reported a turnover of £31 million in 2014 and employs over 100 people.

Its current compound capacity across seven extrusion lines is approximately 46,000 tonnes per annum.

Regain also operates two wash plants and a material preparation facility with a capacity of 28,000 tonnes per annum.

Aurelius UK managing director Tristan Nagler said: “Regain is a robust and innovative business which has successfully met the evolving requirements of its clients for increasingly complex, technical and cost-effective compounding solutions with guaranteed end product quality.

“We look forward to working with the Regain management team to further develop the company’s market leading offering to take advantage of the growing demand for recycled content in plastics applications from retailers, brand owners and automotive OEMs looking to reduce the carbon impact of packaging and products.”
