Shredding company UNTHA UK believes 2012 will be a strong year for both it and the recycling and waste management sector.

Managing director Chris Oldfield has said that 2011 was the year in which more and more organisations started taking their approach to waste management seriously.

He added: “A growing number of companies began looking for more efficient and cost-effective ways to utilise their waste, and because this momentum is gathering pace and the market for shredders is undoubtedly set to grow as a result. Because of this, innovations in shredding technology are not as much about new applications. Instead, engineering developments are allowing clients to work smarter and achieve more from their shredders.”

Chris Oldfield also said that turnover for UNTHA UK will double in 2012. He added: “With half a million pounds set aside for sales and marketing development, our expansion strategy for this year is very serious. We’re recruiting at the moment and plan to take on at least one more employee every month as 2012 unfolds.

“In the last six weeks we’ve secured some very significant shredder sales, which illustrates just how popular the big kit is going to be this year. We are being increasingly approach by customers with confidential waste destruction requirements, as our shredders really stand out from the crowd when used for this application.

“We’ve experienced a rise in the number of clients asking us to help them devise complete waste solutions too, which is why we’re continually enhancing our ever-growing network of high-quality engineering partners in the UK. This means we can concentrate on what we do best, shredding, but we can recommend robust material conveying and separating equipment too.”
