Consultancies LRS and Urban Mines have merged and will operate under the LRS Consultancy name.

The merger means that there will be a larger team and wider geographical spread for the new business.

LRS Consultancy chairman Paul Levett said: “LRS and Urban Mines are a great fit and we are pleased to bring them together to create a stronger consultancy, which can respond to the changing needs of the marketplace as it seeks to address the opportunities associated with the circular economy. This growth is part of our strategic plan, which will continue our development in 2014 and beyond.”

Former Urban Mines managing director Peter Scholes will become a principal consultant in the new business.

Urban Mines will bring its skills of economic modelling and econometrics to LRS clients, while LRS’s skills in supply chain resource efficiency and sustainable procurement will be available to the clients of Urban Mines.

LRS managing director Dee Moloney (pictured) said: “The merger signals an exciting new era, allowing us to enhance the consultancy services we offer to both sets of clients across the UK, helping to meet their changing needs and ambitions.”

The merged company will now maintain two offices in London and Halifax.
