The City of Edinburgh Council has awarded Palm Recycling a one-year extension to the kerbside recycling service it receives from the company.

Last year, Palm Recycling was awarded an interim contract to provide additional kerbside recycling services to 135,000 homes adding plastic bottles and batteries to the paper, card, glass, cans and textiles already collected.

Palm Recycling business manager Ross Johnstone said: “Households in Edinburgh can recycle items that would have historically been consigned to landfill. Scotland’s Zero Waste Plant set out a vision for a zero waste society where all waste is considered a valuable resource and schemes like Edinburgh City Council’s are a step in the right direction towards achieving this.”
