Luton-based West Ferry Printers has appointed Palm Recycling as its preferred supplier of recycling solutions.
The contract will see Palm support a modern and efficient newsprint waste paper recovery system that minimises manual handling, increases revenues as well as reducing the system’s overall carbon footprint.
Palm Recycling worked closely with West Ferry Printers to provide a new and innovative closed loop system, which through significant capital investment sees a system of trailers used to collect waste for delivery to the Palm Paper Mill while conversely finished product from the mill is returned to the printers.
Palm Recycling commercial and marketing manager Richard Waterson said: “West Ferry Printers approached Palm Recycling looking for ideas that would improve the efficiency of the waste recovery system proposed for a new printing facility as well as look at ways that could increase revenues and reduce manual handling.
“Palm designed a fully inclusive collection service that would handle all waste streams even those that were classified hazardous, in addition to delivering the required efficiencies.”
