Recycle Wales director Tina Morris said: “We are delighted to be a part of a larger group. The inclusion of Recycle Wales into the Wastepack Group of companies will be very good for our members who will continue to receive the personal help and support we have always provided, but will now have the backing of a larger compliance scheme behind them, dedicated to providing assured cost effective compliance to all obligated companies.”

Wastepack chief operating officer Lynne Cullis added: “Eyebrows have been raised recently within the compliance sector because of recent statements made by another compliance scheme. Our acquisition of Recycle Wales will send a positive message of the commitment we give to all our scheme members and to the wider producer responsibility community.”

The acquisition by the Harlow-based Wastepack means that the group now provides compliance, environmental consultancy and packaging data solutions to over 1,100 businesses within the UK. It operates the Wastepack and Electrolink compliance schemes.
