Environmentally friendly carrier bag manufacturer Nelson Packaging has been sold.
The company, which specialises in making carrier bags from recycled materials and water-based inks, has been bought by Cheshire-based trade buyer EDCAWI for an undisclosed sum.
Customer of East Lancashire-based Nelson Packaging include major retailers and it will continue to trade as normal following the sale.
Outgoing Nelson Packaging managing director Richard Jones said: “We believe this sale, which was at times a complex transaction, is a great deal for both sides and the employees of Nelson Packaging.”
