E H Hassell has provided Crossley Evans with an Ing. Bonfigilo shear after it became the agent for the company in the UK and Ireland.

Crossley Evans director Adam Evans visited various scrap yards and the Ing. Bonfigioli factory in Bologna, Italy to see the shear in action.

As a result, the firm ordered a 2000T shear with a Cummins engine, Rexroth pump, Parker valve block and 4 x reversible cutting blades.

Evans said: “We have been using a combined shear/baler for a number of years and were looking to add another machine. We then heard that E H Hassell & Sons had become the UK and Ireland dealer for Ing. Bonfigiolo, and knew them, as we have five Sennebogen material handlers in our fleet, and they are the agents for them too. So we decided to take a look at the Ing. Bonfigiolo shear.

“Not having previously experienced Ing. Bonfigiolo products, I had my reservations, so decided to see first hand the shears in action and also their manufacturing facilities. I liked what I saw and decided to purchase the first Ing. Bonfigiolo shear in the UK.

“Having used the shear now for a month, I can safely say, it outperforms our existing shear hands down.”

Meanwhile, Whittaker Metals based in Mansfield have recently bought a new Ing. Bonfigiolo transportable car baler. It is portable and so can be transported using a roll on/roll off vehicle.
