It has received new investment worth £4 million that has allowed it to recruit ten new employees and extend its site in Barnsley. Support organisation Enterprising Barnsley has helped the company find the investment.

The firm has long-term contracts with major electricity generating companies to remove and recycle the supersize electrical plant. It has designed and developed its own heavy-duty roller system to allow transformers, which can weigh up to 600 tonnes, to be moved and loaded onto trailers.

C Soar & Sons (UK) operations manager Dale Evans said: “Investing in facilities and staff to maintain the specialist engineering knowledge and logistics experience of our workforce has been of great importance to us, so we are extremely pleased that we have been able to achieve this expansion and remain in Barnsley.”
