A BMH Ecosaurus 7520 single rotor shredder has been bought by Blackwater Recycling from Alnwick in Northumberland.

The machine was installed earlier in the year to process waste carpet into a fuel material, but it can also be used as a riding surface for horse arenas.

Capable of shredding tyres, wood, plastics, organic waste, textiles, big bags and other forms of waste, the shredder was supplied by Cape Machinery, which is the UK and Ireland agent for BMH.

Blackwater managing director Jim Douglas said: “It was vitally important to us to have a shredder that is capable of handling the material in an efficient manner, while maintaining the throughput as un-shredded carpet is extremely bulky. The Ecosaurus has shown itself to be capable of doing that.”
