Carbios signs deal with Novozymes to secure enzymes for biorecycling of PET

French company Carbios has signed a long-term exclusive deal with biological solutions company Novozymes to secure enzymes for biorecycling of PET.

These enzymes will be used to recycled PET at its Longlaville facility in France that is due to begin production in 2025. The deal will also see Novozymes supply Carbios’ future licensee customers.

Construction of the facility will begin later this year and when complete will process 50,000 tonnes per year of PET.
