The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) has reported that the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment is allowing high-grade PET as ordinary goods to be imported without a licence.
This applies to materials that fall under category A, B and C as defined in Textile Industry Standard of the People’s Republic China.
BIR said that the document said that “any material that does not need to be restored and processed for its original use purpose shall not be managed as solid waste.”
