China implements tariffs on recycled pulp and finished cardboard products

In retaliation to tariffs imposed by the United States, China has put tariffs on recycled pulp from paper and cardboard and also on finished cardboard and paper products.

These tariffs apply to goods shipped from the United States and Canada to China.

Recently, the United States announced that it would place $350 billion (£270 billion) of tariffs on Chinese goods and products. This included tariffs on recycled paper and plastics.

China has responded with tariffs of its own worth $60 billion (£46 billion), but has not included as many recycled materials as the United States.

These tariffs are rated at either 25%, 20% or 10%.
