China has released 1.1 million tonnes of import recovered paper quota ahead of its expected ban by the end of this year.
A total of 1,117,100 tonnes was allocated to Chinese mills by authorities there.
This means a total of almost 6.1 million tonnes of quota has been issued so far in 2020.
However, by 10 July 2019, 9.9 million tonnes of import recovered paper quota had been released showing the country is reducing imports ahead of the ban on them.
