Just 56,650 tonnes of paper quota has been issued by the Chinese Government in its latest batch.
This small paper quota takes the total so far this year to 6.15 million tonnes, down from 9.9 million tonnes seen in the same period up to the end of July 2019.
With some shipping lines no longer taking material to China, it remains to be seen how much quota will be released ahead of the total ban by the end of the year, and whether the material can actually reach the country.
