A $21.4 billion (£13.8 billion) recycling plant is set to be built by China Shenua Group that will recycle coal ash to produce alumina.
Alumina is used to produce aluminium and the facility, located in the Jungar Coal Mining Area in Ordos in north China, will produce 3 billion metric tonnes of alumina. The company currently holds one-sixth of China’s coal reserves.

The recycling plant will contain a 6,600MW power plant, alumina plant and a gallium plant. All plants will use materials recycled from coal burning.
