A local authority in Wales has added certain electrical items to its weekly kerbside collection rounds.
Pembrokeshire County Council announced that residents could place kettles hair dryers and irons on top of their recycling containers.
Other handheld electricals such as four-slice toasters, small coffee machines, hairdryers, power tools and radios are also included in the new service.
Extension leads, power cables and chargers will also be collected, as will vapes in clear plastic bags with their batteries removed.
Rechargeable batteries from laptops, mobile phones and power tools can be left out in the same manner as e-cigarettes, as can standard and lithium-button batteries.
Larger electrical items — including televisions, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, fridges, freezers, air fryers and car batteries — are still not collected from the kerbside.
Rhys Sinnett, cabinet member for residents’ services at the council, said: “This expansion to our kerbside recycling will not only allow us to remove electrical waste from our black bags but also see more of these unused items put to a new use.
“We will all have electrical items that are beyond repair and now they can be collected with the usual recycling for processing rather than ending up in landfill.”
