DS Smith creates recyclable bouquet box for Danish florist

Packaging giant DS Smith has developed a recyclable delivery box for Danish floristry giant Queen Flowers.

The corrugated cardboard device is suitable for between three and five bougets of Kalanchoë blooms.

DS Smith said the box was easy to assemble and designed to maintain moisture levels to keep flowers fresh during transportation to point of sale.

After use, the container can be disposed of in a cardboard recycling bin.

Emilie Stærmose, chief marketing officer at Queen Flowers, said: “We were looking for packaging that is easy to print with our brand, so that we are more visible in the store.

“This is much more effective than the way our bouquets were previously presented.

“The moisture retention and protection provided by these new bouquet boxes from DS Smith, in addition to sustainability and recyclability, are important elements of the design and our strategy.

“We are curious to see how our customers experience this new packaging; their feedback is very valuable to us.”
