Online marketplace eBay is offering people the chance to swap old devices for cash.
The portal has teamed up with retailer Fonehouse for the tech-reuse scheme.
People can enter the details of their device online to receive an instant valuation.
They then have the choice of claiming a voucher that can be redeemed on eBay within 48 hours or taking a payment to their bank account within a week of inspection.
Items must be posted to Fonehouse within a fortnight to be inspected and data-cleansed before being refurbished and sold on eBay.
Eight categories of devices are covered, including phones, tablets, smartwatches and gaming consoles.
Certain trade-ins made before 3 January 2025 will be eligible for an additional £50 payment above the item’s valuation.
All items using the scheme must be in working condition.
