It was selected for the contract following a tender process.

Helistrat business development director Harvey Laud said: “Poundland are one of the high street’s real commercial success stories and we are delighted to have the opportunity to mirror this success in their environmental performance at the back of store.

“Increasing recycling rates and diverting more material from landfill will play an important role in helping Poundland control its future waste management costs and improve their environmental footprint, while increase the amount of secondary resource they can incorporate into a more sustainable supply chain for packaging.”

Poundland property director Craig Bales added: “After a competitive process, Poundland is pleased to announce the appointment of Helistrat, helping us to be best in class in waste management and achieve our recycling targets and goals.

“Helistrat presented a strong proposal and already have extensive experience in the retail sector so we know we are in safe hands and we very much look forward to working together going forward.”
