The Government of Indonesia has suspended the waste import registration process until further notice.

In an announcement by the Indonesian Embassy in the UK, it said that “the service for Exporter Registration Process for Exports of Non-Hazardous and Non-Toxic Waste to Indonesia is under review until further notice”.

The reason why it has suspended the waste import registration process is unclear until further details are provided by the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia.

This means that no new registrations to export to Indonesia can be made until the suspension is lifted.

It also isn’t clear what this means for the 2% contamination limit implemented by the country in June. However, the assumption is that this would be unchanged.
