Not only did ISS help the company with its corporate responsibility commitments, but it also assisted Telefónica in becoming the first telecommunications business in the world to achieve all three Carbon Trust environmental standards for carbon, waste and water.

The award was presented to ISS corporate responsibility director Steve Workman by Telefónica UK chief executive Ronan Dunne at the Telefónica UK Supplier Sustainability Forum.

Steve Workman said: “A key reason for gaining the award was that we proactively added a range of responsible and sustainable business targets into our work with Telefónica UK. Our client stated publicly that they will be asking all suppliers to produce Sustainability Benefit Statements using a range of indicators for the products and services provided to Telefónica UK. This fits exactly with our plans to develop scorecards and reports to demonstrate the value add to our customers from responsible and sustainable working.”
