She will join the Washington DC-based WRI in September, but will continue to be based in the UK.

At WRI, she will take on the work she has done at WRAP to reduce food waste, but at a global level.

WRI Food, Forests and Water Programs global director Craig Hanson said: “Liz brings immense expertise and experience on issues of food, sustainability and the environment. She has had a tremendous impact raising food loss and waste as a vital economic, social, and environmental issue, and she has successfully helped companies and governments reduce food waste at scale.”

Liz Goodwin was stepping down from WRAP at the end of June to be replaced by Marcus Gover.
