Metals largely stable at end of last week, but some downward pressure

With it being the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States at the end of last week, metal prices were largely stable.

However, most metals did see small falls in price.

Three-month copper was down to $7,225 (£4,671) on Friday compared to Thursday’s $7,295 (£4,694).

Aluminium was lower at $2,001 (£1,294) on Friday from Thursday’s $2,024 (£1,302). Alloy also dropped to $1,880 (£1,215) compared to Thursday’s $1,940 (£1,248).

Lead was down a touch on Friday to $1,995 (£1,290) from Thursday’s $2,003 (£1,289). Nickel fell to $17,050 (£11,023) from $17,215 (£11,078) on Thursday.

Tin was also lower at $20,105 (£12,998) from $20,500 (£13,192) on Thursday. Zinc was priced at $1,882 (£1,217) from Thursday’s $1,898 (£1,221).

Steel was unchanged at $520 but increased by £1 to £336.
