A warehouse belonging to Mid UK Recycling has had a major fire.
The facility, at Ancaster near Grantham in Lincolnshire, suffered a fire among 550 tonnes of carpet destined for recycling.
In a statement, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “Our crews have been in attendance overnight at a commercial recycling premises fire in Ancaster.
“550 tonnes of recycled carpet was involved, though this is now being brought under control.”
Roads nearby were closed as a result of the fire as a number of firefighting vehicles were required, and these blocked the streets.
Mid UK Recycling offers a number of recycling and waste services from its base in Lincolnshire.
