A new 100% recycled product has been launched by Novelis called evercycle.
Certified by SCS Global Services that it contains 100% recycled aluminium, evercycle is designed for aluminium food containers.
It is made of 90% post-consumer content and 10% customer manufacturing scrap.
Available now in North America, Novelis plans to roll it out globally as demand grows.
Novelis president and chief executive Phil Martens said: “The launch of evercycle marks an important next step in our long-term commitment to sustainable aluminium product innovation.
“Our evercycle aluminium appeals to customer who want to demonstrate their dedication to sustainability and attract the growing numbers of environmentally conscious consumers.”
The evercycle sheet joins the high-recycled content evercan product that was launched in 2014.
As part of its goal to increase the recycled content of its products to 80% by 2020, Novelis also plans to develop other uses for evercycle including appliances and cookware.
