Novelis strikes deal to supply Meadow with recycled aluminium

Mumbai-owned global aluminium firm Novelis is to supply Swedish technology company Meadow with recycled metal under a new deal.

The agreement will support an increase in recovered material in the Stockholm company’s Kapsul pre-fill drinks can.

Novelis, which recycles more 84 billion used beverage containers annually, will join Ball Corporation, DRT Holdings and C-Care in Meadow’s supply chain.

Meadow chief executive Victor Ljungberg said the latest deal was “another exciting milestone”.

“Novelis brings not only deep industrial expertise, but the scale and reliability needed to support our continued commercial growth,” he added.

“Crucially, it strengthens the sustainability of our value chain, creating one of the most circular packaging solutions available today, and brings us closer to our end goal of eliminating linear packaging.”

Novelis senior vice president and chief commercial officer Greg Schlicht said the company was “proud” to work with Meadow. “Together, we are developing innovative products to create a more circular and sustainable future,” he added.

The pair have committed to further collaboration on a number of innovation and commercial initiatives.
