A five-year extension to its contract with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has been won by Palm Recycling.

The existing source separated collection is being modified to a dual stream set-up where mixed glass, cans, mixed plastics and tetrapak will be collected in a 240 litre wheeled bin and mixed paper and board in a 55 litre inner caddy.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council cabinet member for health and environment Councillor Bill Sheppard said: “The dual stream collection system introduced in conjunction with Palm Recycling ensures material quality is maintained, which is essential for recycling into new products, alongside increased recycling rates due to the expected increase in participation in the new scheme.”
