James Cropper moulded bottle support

Paper product manufacturer James Cropper has developed moulded-fibre tops and bases for bottle packaging.

The Cumbrian firm said the items were designed for the champagne and whisky market and made from its innovative Colourform material.

The tops and bases are designed to replace plastic and foam elements when transporting drinks bottles and help brands offer more sustainable packaging.

They are also up to five times lighter than traditional alternatives, helping reduce carbon emissions, according to the firm.

It added that the tops and bases were fully recyclable, with no dismantling required, making it easy to dispose of the product sustainably at home.

Business development manager Scott Jones said: “The new tops and bases have been born out of our partnerships with luxury brands who share our vision for the highest quality packaging that never comprises on functionality or style.

“We are dedicated to inventing packaging that doesn’t cost the Earth and helps brands and consumers have the very best product experience while contributing to a more sustainable future.”

The tops and bases are offered in white, black or bespoke shades on request. Customers can also choose to emboss or deboss a logo.
